Victorian and Edwardian buildings crying out to be saved

Victorian Society releases their annual list revealing Victorian and Edwardian buildings crying out to be saved.

Marc Stchedroff, Managing Director for OLBC comments on the issues faced by these neglected buildings.

“It is always sad to see such beautiful building and extensive craftsmanship being allowed to decay.

Unfortunately the sheer scale and location of some of these Victorian masterpieces makes them hard to repurpose. Added to that the complexity of the replicating and restoring most of the architectural and interior detailing on such a vast scale.

However, any of them would make excellent training for a new generation of traditional craftsmen and craftswomen for the Heritage sector.”
