Ricky Gervais Selling Heavily Renovated Hampstead Home

Ricky Gervais has a history of embarking on huge home renovation projects in London, and it looks like the fruits of his labour are set to go on the market for a multimillion-pound price tag.

The comedian has listed his four-bedroom Hampstead home for £7.75 million, following reports that he has moved into an even bigger property in North London.

Gervais heavily renovated his Willoughby Road house while there, including adding a luxury gym and swimming pool as part of an extensive basement conversion. The £1 million upgrade has helped The Office star’s home nearly double in value from £3.4 million in 2006 to its current listed price.

The 54-year-old’s penchant for home improvements may carry across to his new property, which is also in Hampstead. According to the eight-bedroom mansion’s former listing, there are plenty of renovation opportunities for ambitious buyers.

“There is huge potential to expand the cellars and redevelop at garden level, subject to the usual consents,” the description states.

Land Registry documents show Gervais and his long-term partner Jane Fallon purchased the new property earlier this month for £10.5 million. The Mirror reports that it was one of the biggest real estate sales in London this year, with a stamp duty bill totalling £1.1 million.

In addition to eight bedrooms, the property also has four reception rooms, three bathrooms, a summer house with a swimming pool and a large garden. The home is thought to be around seven times bigger than the average property in the UK.
